1 new manga

Code:Breaker!

It's like darker than black + bleach! I dun wanna comment much about the manga in case of spoilers, just that Eden's naming sense kinda sucks. They need better naming skills.

But overall, it's a kinda fun manga to read. Does remind me of full metal panic too!

lollerposts

If you play starcraft 1 or 2 and watched pro league, you'll probably know who idra is. And you'll probably know what this means:
i got a good LOL over it. Although not to be biased, Idra said that he won that match.

O crap this is such an insider joke.

Anyway some more manga:

Song of The Cloud: Korean Manhwa. google it for more, because i'm going out in 5 mins and can't really describe all the manga/manhwa.

My mother and the Game-room guest: Popular novel which many koreans know.

Usogui- dunno if i mentioned this already.

O yeah Cyber blue ended. no more testerone overdose manga beefiness :( It was a simple and awesome He-man of the future.

Uso! gui!

A manga on gambling with life.

More intense than Gamble Fish.

Stakes like Kaiji's.

You gotta read it!

I've only read the first arc so far, but i like the story. But it's more dark than Kaiji's. Still it's good...go read!

CYANIDE & HAPPINESS PLUSHIES

The C&H store reopens! And the plushies look good. Not to mention throwable, since it's C&H. Too bad no shipping to Singapore yet.. Or i may consider getting one.

Anyway some more manga that i missed out last time (seems like the last post was all whack mangas)

ANNARASUMANARA - Korean manga. Slow paced, a quiet story of a poor girl living with her younger sibling, trying to make ends meet at home and studying at the same time. She eventually finds an abandoned amusement park and each time she goes there a magician would be there. The magician always asks her the same question:

"Do you believe in magic?"

Which she always freaks out and tries to run. I doubt anyone would blame her for that hahaha. You're alone in an abandoned amusement park, a lone man shows up and asks you that.. How normal is that. If the fairy godmother in Cinderella was a godfather i bet Cinderella would have second thoughts. A fairy godthing shows out of nowhere and wants to grant your wish. A godmother maybe, but a godfather granting your wish to go to a ball? Think again! You really wanna go down there in a suit carrying a Thompson in your suit?

Ok that was off the track. Anyway another manga..

Cheese in the Trap. Another K manga about a girl who meets a popular guy, but feels that the guy has hidden agendas. She has an unusual number of meetings with the guy and his actions confuse her of his personality more.

There are more(jap mangas), but i can't recall and am late for class...maybe next time!

Random mangas

It's been a while since i last posted manga that i have read. though i have read some, but just got lazy to post them.

But!

Some manga that are worth mentioning..

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai
SOREDEMO MACHI WA MAWATTEIRU
SEITOKAI YAKUINDOMO
Seiken Densetsu - Legend of Mana
Knight Run

Oh yeah, this time i ranked it by awesomeness(funny, if it isn't then it's at least interesting. Ok, at least to me).

You'll probably notice the thing i do - There is a pattern in naming all the awesome titles!(or the place i read manga chose to use the jap titles instead). It is that all the good titles usually have long jap-untranslated-into-english-which-makes-them-sound-all-the-same. The authors probably decided that if someone ever talks about a good manga, it should be able to link to all good mangas.

For example, person A and B are talking.
A:"hey have u heard of a manga called SEITODENSETSU MACHI TOMODACHI or Boku Sukunai or something?"
B:"Oh, you mean the manga about high school students ( insert usual activity of manga that sounds like what person A has just said)?"
A:"Actually i was talking about another manga, but the one u said is also damn funny hahaha. You should read this manga about..."

OK. The first sentence is actually the labours of all the mangakas writing and drawing awesome stuff and letting the titles be long jap words so that non-japanese will be able to subconsciously link all the awesome long jap word title mangas together, discuss it interchangably without the need to actually remember the actual title of the manga. This saves neural resources in your brain, and i can say (with my fingers and toes crossed) that using lesser neural resources makes you a cleverer person.

Guess that was one reason i didn't get good grades for midterm :/

And they get to exchange manga that will brighten their lives, filling it with rainbows and sunshine or whatever, and spread the joy. They will feel that their life is perfect until they have read the latest release and realise that they have to wait for the next release. They then return to depression and watch T,J or K drama. Or probably go out with their friends.

If the paragraph above didn't make sense, it means that i really want to go back to reading one of the manga that i stopped halfway to blog about. I'm just filling up this space with words so i don't appear lazy. But who are you appearing lazy to? i ask myself and realise that lesser use of neural resources has led to the lack of use of neural resource. I'm practically talking to myself hahahahaha. Wait, I've been doing that all along.

Anyway, check out the manga if u can, they'll give u a good laugh if you like what i like(reading crap, that is). Nah seriously, i appreciate the stupidity/humor/puns.

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai - After reading this manga i found it damn funny. The drawings are good, the disfiguration is also awesome and unique.

SOREDEMO MACHI WA MAWATTEIRU - This was awesome random stupidity ice blended and sprinkled with cut strawberries and icing sugar. Go read stupid awesomeness.

SEITOKAI YAKUINDOMO - Similar manga but more light sexual jokes. I'm actually sick of loli tsunderes. They're like everywhere it's becoming boring. Other than that the comic's not bad.

Seiken Densetsu, Legend of Mana - This one actually was a game i recalled playing when i was young, though i played Secret of Mana, the story is familiar. If you haven't played the game you'll probably find the storyline progressing relatively fast. Relative compared to battle mangas that take a volume to reach from their school gate to the classroom. I bet if the main character in this manga wanted he could cross the universe in 5 pages.

Yeah the storyline progresses THAT fast.

Knight Run - Actually, this wasn't much of humor. It's more of interesting which i thought may be worth mentioning. It's a Korean manga, and since twilight, korea have Noblesse. Since there is star wars, why not Knight run. Or at least that is what i thought- Knight run is like a story on korean jedi, fighting vandread monsters. Guess that makes it Stardread Wars then.

On another hand, I'm also reading non-jap/korean comics. Try out Something*Positive, something i found quite good. You'll probably get used to the insanity of the comic after a while. There are sad moments though.

That's probably all. I wanna get back to reading bokuwatomodacihgasukininow

They have twilight, we have..

Noblesse! Although i haven't watched or even read the twilight series, i think "Noblesse" from Korea is good. I like the storyline so far! Search your manga sauces and read it now!

busy

ok im doing my midterm which is gg. Cause i need to describe 3 views of human intelligence and the 3 views which i had derived/concluded/assumed/randomly picked were IMO very correlated. Not the views related to human intelligence, but the 3 views are related to each other. The other part of the question which makes the situation divide by zero is "which in ur opinion is most plausible?"

this lead me to thinking either i got 3 totally wrong views, or that i am thinking too much, or that i am misunderstanding the 3 views i currently know. or that i am misunderstanding the latter part of the question, which i hope i am.

hypo #1: the latter part of the qn, plausible meant: "credible" or believable. (or sauce worthy)
this means im totally dividing by zero because i believe in a "different situation needs different views" view.
hypo #2: this question is supposed to be so contradicting to make u purposely choose question #2 to do, because it is 1)more practical and 2)not necessarily contradicting.

i guess i'll start looking at question 2.

p.s. manga i'm reading: noblesse, gamble fish, shitsuraken and the previously mentioned ones. i feel really busy when i'm actually not busy doing my assignment work.

/kkk/

It's saturday, what better way to start the day having a nice hot breakfast(subjective to culture), read the morning papers and have a nice ice cold cup of OJ, feeling the warmth of the sun on your back?

Unfortunately i woke up to eating bread , drinking water and then proceeding to play mafia 2, get pwnd a few times before dragging myself to do housework.

Which was a good workout.

Subjective.

Anyways sweaty and all i went back to surf the net, lazy to even turn on the fan(ok actually i'm turning it on now), surfed around mgid.com and then to the legendary 4ch4n.org

Which was pretty interesting, it's like a whole developed city, complete with interesting stuff right down to the slums filled with trolls, which sometimes are worth a good while but never ever meaningful. I mean, I read a thread about a guy who felt that he had found a definitive statement to distinguish high schoolers and the rest, which was directly related to the place you buy your clothes. Those who disagreed with him used words or pictures ( like this ), which was interesting. Everyone started stoning the troll, a few random trolls rose from the rioting, which was put down by totally clueless pple, either by virtue of skill in absolute subtleness, or thickness. Either way evolution played its part in this historical event and it ended abruptly. To me, it was like a small piece of history that unfolded as i read the thread.
..o wait, it IS history.

Anyway, threads like that always seem to draw readers and replies, even though it is obviously meaningless and not that worth replying, the obvious didn't happen. people like me get distracted and enjoyed reading it, wasting 5 minutes of our lifes and feeling a little amused. It fuelled the interest in reading other 4ch threads, so i closed the mgid tabs(i had 10 tabs including mgid and 4ch) less my computer transform into megatron due to too many tabs running when i accidentally closed the 4ch tab and i almost cried. ok, not physically, but inside my mind i was like "oh man!!!!!!! :'(" cry. Even though the fact that i could restore the closed tabs by the click of 2 buttons, my inner emotions got the better of me first!

This led me to thinking about how sometimes in life, we are not prepared for something and when it happens, we may let our emotions get the better of ourselves and do the silly thing (like buying a burger and drink. Only to realise that a burger set with drink and fries cost lesser than a burger plus drink). If that happened, you can cry loudly. Hopefully audible enough for the waitress or waiter to hear, so you can lament the fact that you could have saved money by buying fries, and perhaps negotiated a redealof your meal purchase. Unfortunately, i had let my emotions not get the better of me (I was like "AOOOWW WTF?" *nom nom slurp*) before i realised that perhaps, i could have brought the set back and negotiated for a meal deal pack o' fries. By the time however all the terms of negotiation left were in the form of a square piece of burger wrap with sauce and a paper cup with melted ice. I felt that the deal may turn against my situation, therefore i dropped the entire case.

Of course, my conclusion that the deal was unfavourable towards my case is also, subjective.

Kazan, Arakawa Under the Bridge, Gamaran

A couple of manga.. wait is it mangas? Or mangae? Mangi? Anyway, 3 manga, kazan gamaran and Arakawa Under the Bridge.

1) Kazan is a story about the son of a famous tribe's chief, who had a childhood friend and an eagle. One day, a man came for them, claiming Kazan's father (who hadn't returned to the tribe for a long time) sold Kazan to him (the mysterious man) and came to take him. His childhood friend who was with him tried to stop the man, but ended up getting taken away in kazan's place. The man then destroyed kazan's entire tribe, leaving only him and his eagle. Kazan then travels with his eagle to find his childhood friend and take revenge on the mysterious man.

2) Gamaran is about kurogane Gama, the son of a legendary swordsman who is believed to have killed 1000 martial artists in Unabara.

The ruler of the powerful state Unabara, Washitzu Naosata, is looking for his successor. He calls upons all his 31 sons, and tell them to search for whoever they believe to be the strongest martial artist of all. Each of their chosen martial artists then are to fight against each other until only one is left standing. Whoever is the winner, whoever has the strongest martial artist in nation by his side will become his successor.

There, one of the son of Washitzu Naosata, Washitzu Naoshi, comes in search of the legendary swordsman, only to find that he had gone missing several years ago. After seeing the battle style of Gama, he instead chooses to ask Gama to come with him. Wanting to become stronger, Gama agrees to his offer, and that marks the beginning of Gama's battle to become the strongest of all .

Actually i just copy pasted most of the description from the internet. Gamaran is interesting as a swordfighting manga (or should i say martial arts manga), like ruroni kenshin, but of course i wouldn't compare them both. They have their appealing parts, though i still prefer RK. Gamaran is still good, though it is a more serious manga than RK. It's worth reading IMO.

Lastly it's Arakawa under the bridge. If you have read Bobobo-bo-bobo bo , gintama or the likes of it, Arakawa under the bridge belongs to this family or randomness. It is not as chaotic as Bobobo, but messed up enough for you to follow and have a laugh if you appreciate randomness and awesome drawing (like one of the scenes in "Today in Class 5-2"). In fact, AUtB is slightly more random than Today in Class 5-2, but more logical than Bobobobobobobobobo, lesser puns than gintama. Those who read all the abovementioned mangas (excluding AUtB of course) probably will understand what kind of manga AUtB is now. Whether you'll enjoy this manga is probably up to your mood.

More manga when i can remember them!

An additional blog post which is more like a follow up, but if it's of different content, do you call it a follow up?

I saw one of my older posts and realised that there were a few mangas that had deviated from their initial "theme" and became more mainstream- Examples like Katekyo Hitman Reborn! and Medeka Box. Both started out as humor manga but became more battle intense manga(esp KHB!, imo).. Not that it became worse, but I don't understand if there is a need for yet another battle manga. Personally I have had enough of battle manga and don't mind seeing more light humor mangas like what ky0t0 animation produces (Melancholy of suzumiya haruhi, K-ON!, Lucky star etc.), but if it's battle manga, make it unique and more realistic. I enjoyed pumpkin scissors alot, although it is a little unreal. Even now i read cyber blue for the same reason why there are people who still play contra- To relieve the good old times.

Speaking of this, I recalled reading 2 mangas that i think are quite good- "Sommelier", and "say hello to Black Jack". Sommelier has a similiar storyplot to "Bartender", but i would say both are worth reading . On the other hand, "Say hello to black jack" is a medical manga, but instead of focusing on the medical aspects of the story, most of the plot revolves around politics in the hospital. If you want to see doctors with amazing skills and techniques, this probably isn't the manga. But if you're interested in a different viewpoint of a ("jap")hospital, Say hello to black jack.

literally.

(Or Mangally?)

Abit more manga

A nice manga about how a highly wanted swindler who was caught, ended up escaping while being transported to prison... and becomes a teacher. It's similiar to GTO, but not as serious as it. Overall, Hammer Session! is a nice humorous lighthearted manga.

Cyber Blue is like a manga version of the video game contra, except with a slightly deeper story plot(I wasn't really aware of Contra having a story plot, pardon me if there is). A guy gets robbed, cheated his money of, framed for murdering someone and dies. Then he resurrects as a cyberbeing and kicks badguy ass. Oh yeah, Cyber blue is as oldschool as Contra. Abit of gore- not like avid manga readers would be surprised by.

There are a few other mangas, but i haven't read much about them yet. Perhaps next time.

Another medical manga

Here's a medical manga that I recently read and felt was quite interesting- "Say Hello to Black Jack".

Probably some of you may be thinking "Argh another medical manga on the Jap Healthcare system". Well it is, but like Naruto and Bleach, you know it's gonna be a battle manga like dragonball but you'll still read it. because it's kickass fighting!!!!!!
ok maybe not all of them. Still, there aren't many medical mangas anyway, so no harm checking this one out!

I posted this because it was under drafts and i probably forgot to click publish and left it there for a year or something..

no harm posting.

Onemanga returns to the wind...but manga lives on

It's been some time since onemanga closed down.. Which left an impact on us online manga readers who don't have a convenient source of manga available for us to read, especially when the manga you like aren't on shelves yet(or ever). But I believe that all of us have some way of getting our manga, somewhere.

A manga I have been reading recently is "HayatexBlade" (or Hayate Cross Blade), which is interesting. It's a female high school sword fighting manga with a hundred characters and a typical evil Student council chairman. It's a good manga to read and have a laugh at. One of my favourite character is Mizuchi Asakura, because of her deadpan humor and idiosyncrasy, especially after she fought Ayana and Hayate. Of course, I like Hitsugi (Kaicho) and AyanaxHayate too.

Spoiler pic below:

In biggest pic, from left to right: Sou, Mizuchi, Ayane, Hayate.

In soviet russia....

I was reading the links that appeared on explosm.net (funny links etc) and one of them was about a journalist who was granted access to take a tour inside a russian nuclear power plant. The comment column was filled with comments, one of which was this:

Somehow that random comment made my day hahaha!

recorder manga?

If you think Bobobo bo bobo bo is funny, try Pyuu to fuku! Jaguar. It makes bobobobobobo look chaotic. Chapter 18 was one of the funniest chapter i've read.

Seriously, if you couldn't follow bobobobobo's story, you should consider PtF! Jaguar- The storyline is quite clear.

Except for chapter 1 lolz

"Merlion" would be more accurate compared to "lion fountain", don't you think so?

paint.net.sia

Recently i download a program that functions better than micr0s0ft paint and is free: paint.net.
It has layers which is the function everyone wants. Or at least me.

Medaka star, lucky box

comparing lucky star and medaka box, it looks like konata will grow up to become medaka (besides the eye colour). Medaka does feel like a lelouch though lol.

Manga posting

Here's the next manga that i have been reading lately..

Yureka - A story about a group of friends playing an online RPG and their progress in the virtual world. The first few chapters may not be the best, but the story just gets better. I'm on chapter 58 right now, which is about 1/3 through of the released chapters (in 1manga). It's a fantasy story with occasional talks of in-game mechanics (losing exp and stuff lol).

go read!

manga of the week

Recommended manga of the week:

Cross Game
Bartender
Zetman
Zettai Karen Children
Gamble-fish

Cross Game: Story about 2 families (mostly a guy from 1 family and sisters from another family) as they grow up, playing baseball. It's one of the normal stories but gets you reading.

Bartender-Manga about a bartender. He works in a bar, serves all types of customers and learns stuff on the way. It's more interesting than it sounds.

Zetman- Manga about a person whose grandfather was killed by a monster. He takes revenge and starts finding out that he wasn't what he thought he was.

Gamble-fish: Story about a guy gambling in a "gambling school "to find the whereabouts of his father.

The manga are arranged in order of my preference, cross game most preferred.
